AKURE: Two teachers identified as Blessing Omowera and Sola Kalejaye have been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly using human parts for ritual purpose.
The police reported that the two suspect allegedly collect the fingernails and blood of the pupils of Heritage Nursery and Primary School, Ondo town, Ondo State.
The two suspect were arrested when one of the pupils got home and informed her father of what the teacher did to her in the school, and the parents immediately reported the matter at the Ondo Area Command, Ondo.
It was gathered that Omowera works at the nursery and primary school, whie Kalejaye is said to be a teacher in a secondary in the town.
Mr. Femi Joseph, the Police Public Relation Officer for the state police command, disclosed that Omowera called the two pupils under the pretence of cleaning their nails by cutting their fingernails.
It was reported that in the act of cleaning their fingernails, she will intentionally cut the hands of the victim to bring out blood.
She will then clean the the bloodstained hand with a cloth she brings out of her bag.
The victims are both three-year-old.
Joseph said, “We were informed that after the suspect (Omowera) had cut the hands of the pupils, she cleaned up the blood with a cloth and took both the blood and fingernails away.”
“After she was arrested, she confessed that she was sent by somebody who wanted to use the blood and fingernails for ritual purposes; that was why we arrested the sender (Kalejaye).”
“He (Kalejaye) too will soon be charged to court,” Joseph said.
Mr. Ambrose Akinnodi, one of the father of the pupils has called on the state government and human rights activists in in the the country in ensuring that justice was done in the matter.
However, it was gathered that the two pupils had been withdrawn from the school.
The police spokesman noted that Omowera had already been charged to court, while Kalejaye was still in custody undergoing interrogation.
